Venture into its halls, and you’ll find a range of exhibitions and showcases that lie at the intersection of technology and artistry.

Past exhibitions here have included Human + —a foray into the future of human augmentation, cyborgs and clones— and Disney: Magic of Animation, which delves into the technological and artistic nuances of 3D animation.

Asian Civilisations Museum

Located a stone’s throw away from the Singapore River, the Asian Civilisations Museum is devoted to the exploration of Asia’s rich history and culture. 

The museum is a trove of relics and artefacts that trace the trajectory of regional trade, religion and culture. Visitors can discover unearthed treasures at the Tang Shipwreck display, or learn about ancient Buddhist and Hindu practices at the Faith and Belief Gallery.

The museum’s permanent exhibitions—housed in the Singapore History gallery and Living Galleries—piece together the past of our nation in a compelling narrative.

Singapore Philatelic Museum

The museum is currently closed for redevelopment until 2021, so be sure to visit their website regularly, to see if the establishment’s reopening coincides with your next trip to Singapore.

In our era of emails and instant messaging apps, stamps may seem like quaint artefacts of bygone age. But these prototype tools of mass communication can still provide fascinating  insights into our past.

Located in a charmingly preserved colonial building, the Singapore Philatelic Museum tracks the history of stamp usage from the 1830s to the present day. 

Curious lovers of culture can embark on a virtual tour of the premises and explore past exhibits, with themes ranging from the history of Singapore to popular culture-based showcases such as The Little Prince and  Harry Potter.
