Reinforcing a 27-year Legacy

Medical Fair Asia 2024, held from 11-13 September in Singapore, continued its impressive 27-year history as the region's premier medical and healthcare event. The 15th edition, co-located with Medical Manufacturing Asia, was organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board. Together, the events featured more than 1,000 exhibitors from 45 countries and 19 national and group pavilions showcasing their medical and healthcare solutions. The combined events drew around 13,725 attendees from 60 countries – a remarkable 34% increase from its 2022 edition.
This strong turnout underscores the event’s growing prominence and reach within the medical industry and reinforces Singapore’s status as a global hub for healthcare innovation. As Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia, emphasised, "We have by far the largest medical exhibition in Southeast Asia. It's really an Inter-Asian marketplace for innovations in the medical industry."
Enabling Regional Healthcare Advancement
Medical Fair Asia strategically leverages Singapore’s position as Asia’s leading MedTech hub, providing exhibitors access to a dynamic and growing regional market of over 600 million people. Singapore’s business-friendly environment and robust infrastructure foster a thriving culture of innovation, which promotes international collaboration. Silke Wendt, Global Marketing Manager of KUKA Medical Robotics, noted, “We chose Singapore because there is a lot of innovation and technology.” This unique ecosystem, coupled with the country’s strategic location, creates a conducive springboard for companies expanding in the region. As Ringling noted, "Southeast Asia's ageing population and expanding middle class are key drivers of growth in the region's healthcare industry, and Singapore's strategic position makes it the ideal gateway."
A Dynamic Platform for Innovation

The exhibition floor buzzed with excitement as exhibitors showcased their latest medical and healthcare innovations. This year also saw the addition of Portugal’s first national pavilion alongside the new Industry Suppliers Networking Products spanning various healthcare sectors, from medical equipment and diagnostic tools to pharmaceutical supplies and rehabilitation technologies. The new additions further expanded the event's global reach and collaborative potential, driving positive transformation in healthcare delivery across the region.
As a long-time attendee of Medical Fair Asia, Dr. Prapa Wongphaet, President of the Medical and Wellness Tourism Association and Board Director of AIRS Medical Enterprise, observed the event's continued growth. “The show is becoming bigger with more dealers and exhibitors, as well as new technologies, equipment, and management solutions. This is a must-attend show for those in hospital management."
