Well established and recognised as Asia’s pinnacle ICT, broadcasting and digital multimedia industry event, BroadcastAsia2016, CommunicAsia2016 and EnterpriseIT2016 returned from 31 May to 3 June 2016 at Marina Bay Sands® Singapore.

The event gathered industry leaders and newcomers from around the world to showcase the latest cutting-edge technologies and solutions for over-the-top (OTT) content, multi-platform streaming services, big data analytics, software defined networks and many more.

“Smart cities and enterprise development have moved from concept to application, with our everyday lives becoming smarter and more mobile. In line with the growing importance of Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities building amongst businesses in the region, CommunicAsia2016, EnterpriseIT2016 and BroadcastAsia2016 have gathered the biggest names in technology and innovation that are driving rapid digital transformation in Asia, and around the world,” says Mr Victor Wong, Project Director of Communication Events from event organiser, Singapore Exhibition Services.

Enhanced experience for all

This year’s edition undoubtedly brought exciting and informative activities that enhanced the experience of every visitor. The introduction of the BroadcastAsia TV Everywhere! Zone in 2015 was a success with over 30 exhibitors showcasing the latest solutions in the entire value chain of the non-linear way of broadcasting. This year, visitors were able to witness a bigger and better showing of companies in the TV Everywhere! Zone as the event continued to place emphasis on the OTT content and multi-screen solutions.

In addition to the TV Everywhere! Zone, visitors were able to stop by other themed zones, including the Cinematography/Film/Production Technology Zone and the Post Production Hub. In the Cinematography/Film/Production Technology Zone, visitors learned about the latest motion picture production tools and software capabilities that would help to enhance their work. The Post Production Hub, on the other hand, was where industry experts shared their insights and experiences on the different equipment, tips and tricks, and best practices for addressing the different challenges in the course of their work.

Also present at the event for the third consecutive year and with a main focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart City innovations was NXT@CommunicAsia. Exhibiting in the exclusive NXT@CommunicAsia area was Singapore-based SME and IT System Integrator, SC Soft, which demonstrated its products, presented its company credentials and highlighted its presence in the regional markets. “CommunicAsia is a hub for niche technologies from new and established local and regional players, and it provided us with the opportunity to meet with industry leaders as well as potential partners from emerging markets,” said Dr Joule Lee, CEO at SC Soft.

Unprecedented portfolio of experts and speakers

Beyond the exhibition, the BroadcastAsia2016 International Conference and CommunicAsia2016 Summit brought together an exciting line-up of C-level speakers who showcased trend-setting technologies and shared insights on the impact of digital transformation on the way consumers communicate and consume media and content. Speakers included industry influencers from top players such as Google, MediaCorp, Intel and Huawei.

Also back by popular demand for the seventh successive year was the Creative Content Production Conference. Top-level professionals representing companies such as activeTV, Scripps Networks Interactive and NBCUniversal Inc. examined the changing ecosystem of the film and TV business, as well as highlighted the growth opportunities in content creation and distribution in the Asian marketplace. Not only were delegates able to learn key strategies and tools to replicate the success of blockbusters in the region, they also had the opportunity to exchange ideas with over 200 key players in the content generation and media sphere.
