While the words “great outdoors” tend to conjure up images of exciting sports and gruelling treks through the wilderness, there are thrills and spills to be had indoors as well.
From voyages into the realm of virtual reality to smashing good times in a rage room, Singapore’s indoor activities provide endless ways for action-seekers to push their limits.
HeadRock VR—Face what you fear
Heading this action-packed list is HeadRock VR—Singapore’s biggest virtual reality (VR) theme park. With three different action zones—colour-coded as green, blue and orange for increasing levels of intensity—there is bound to be adventures for adrenaline lovers of every stripe.
To push the limits of your bravery, head straight into The Orange Zone, a fully immersive horror room which gives you the option of either escaping from a haunted room deep within the Amazon, or battling vengeful zombies and witches.
This theme park is also home to VR roller-coasters that will test your courage in wildly imaginative realms. Rides like The Extreme Train situates you in the simulation of a decaying roller coaster track that ramps up in speed, with hair-raising turns and immersive kinetic motion.

The Fragment Room—Get in touch with your wild side
Getting in touch with your emotions is generally a healthy experience…which is why you should channel your inner Hulk at The Fragment Room, Singapore’s first and only rage room.
For the uninitiated, rage rooms give visitors the opportunity to smash, decimate and wreck various items in a safe space. You don’t have to be mad about anything to sign up though–the Fragment Room provides you with baseball bats and crowbars that’ll have you test your swing strength better than any golf range.
Have a go at everything from bottles and vases to electronic appliances. Don’t worry about flying fragments—the space will provide you with a fully protective jumpsuit while you embark on your power-packed onslaught.

Xcape Singapore—Walk in the shoes of action heroes
Imagine being the protagonist of your favourite action movie. What would you have done differently? With Xcape Singapore, you can turn that fantasy into a reality.
The nation’s first and largest themed escape room brings your favourite movies to life, with 52 game rooms across 8,000 square feet. The rooms are decked out in props reminiscent of various popular media icons, ranging from the spine-tingling doll in Annabelle to the crowd-pleasing Kung Fu Panda.
Visitors will be given the opportunity to sleuth it out like Sherlock Holmes, and escape the room in a given time limit.

SuperPark—Push your limits in a plethora of ways
If you have trouble picking your poison as a die-hard adrenaline lover, you can experience it all at SuperPark, which brings a plethora of action-themed activities under one roof.
This super-sized theme park is divided into three zones: The Adventure Area for the young ones, the Game Arena for team sports, and the Freestyle Hall for activities that are as physical as they are skill intensive—like skating and gymnastics.
Get into a round of hoops with fellow sports junkies at their street basketball court, test your instep kick against the RoboKeeper, or get up to some rock-climbing shenanigans with your buddies at the park’s augmented climbing wall. Visiting families can engage in a bout of friendly competition at the Pedal Car Track, or encourage their kids to overcome challenges at the Freestyle Area’s climbing wall.

Axe Factor—Hone your ‘axe’-llent accuracy
Ever wanted to feel like Thor from The Avengers? You’ll be hurling axes and not hammers at the Axe Factor, but we reckon that the activity is equally thrilling. Singapore’s first-ever indoor axe throwing range will have you testing both your accuracy and upper-body activity in one adrenaline-pumping activity.
The rules are elegantly simple: Participants stand 14 feet from the target, and projectiles that hit closer to the centre of the board score more points.
While the idea of handling a bladed tool like an axe may sound daunting to some, rest assured that the establishment’s ‘axe-perts’ find safety to be no laughing matter. You’ll be guided through the entire process and hitting those bullseyes before you know it. Remember to bring your friends, as teams will get to participate in a round robin, with the winner earning massive bragging rights!
