            Pongal is a traditional Indian harvest festival that charms with its colourful intimations of an age gone by.

            New Beginnings

            Pongal is a traditional harvest festival commonly celebrated in South India. It is a time to express gratitude to the Sun God, Surya for a bountiful harvest. The festival lasts for four days and involves cooking a special dish called Pongal, made from newly harvested rice and lentils.

             

            People decorate their homes, wear new clothes, and exchange gifts. Pongal is a joyous occasion that brings communities together to celebrate and appreciate the blessings of nature.
