Up-close snaps from the city
Set up your tripods and wait for the sky to light up over the city centre during Singapore’s National Day on 9 August and New Year Eve’s countdown. These spots are close to the epicentre of both celebrations, which happen at NS Square, the Marina Bay floating platform.

Merlion Park
At the Merlion Park, you will enjoy a scintillating, front-row view of pyrotechnics against a stunning skyline. Housed at the waterfront park is a statue of the Merlion, Singapore’s mythical national icon. Come down early, pose for a photo and watch as others get creative with their shots. Then set your camera up along the steps that open to a waterfront for a prime view of the show.
On National Day, you’ll also get to set your eyes on an aerial display of fighter planes zipping across the sky before the fireworks showdown. Best of all, you’ll see fireworks light up the sky with the iconic structures of Marina Bay Sands® and ArtScience Museum™ as backdrop.

Spend the first half of the day exploring our world-famous Gardens by the Bay. Walk amongst futuristic looking metal Supertrees, standing at 25 to 50 metres tall and intertwined with 200 species of plants from all over the world. After a day of exploring the garden, wind down at Marina Barrage and enjoy the display while lazing on the grass. Don’t forget to bring some snacks if you intend to have a picnic!
