For the first time in its prestigious 20-year history, the Forum of Young Global Leaders selected Singapore as its host city for its 2024 Annual Summit. From 21 to 23 October, close to 500 Young Global Leaders from 80 countries gathered for three insightful days of dialogue, connection, and vision-setting to address global challenges.
Themed "The Future of Leadership," the Summit facilitated crucial discussions structured around four key pillars: Leadership for Technological & Innovative Stewardship; Leadership for Equity, Inclusion & Unity; Leadership for Nature & Climate; and Leadership for Health, Well-being & Resilience.
The significance of the Forum of Young Global Leaders Annual Summit extends past its event duration, serving as a critical platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. As these Young Global Leaders return to their respective countries and fields, they carry with them not just insights and connections but also renewed motivation to work together across borders and drive meaningful change in their communities.
Returning for his third Summit, Zuriel Nalker, Managing Director of Marsh McLennan Africa and a Young Global Leader based in Johannesburg, shared his perspective on the event's influence: “Events like this are critical in shaping the future of global leadership because they foster collaboration and innovation. At previous Summits, we've been able to connect with people across a variety of issues and forge relationships that we've taken forward in order to enable some of those solutions.”
