Event Overview

Vinexpo Asia is the leading trade event for the wine and spirits industry in Asia-Pacific.

The 2025 edition is the second year that the show is held in Singapore, underscoring Southeast Asia’s position as a dynamic region in the global wine and spirits trade. From Thailand to Vietnam, Malaysia to Indonesia and the Philippines, the ASEAN bloc has shown a shared momentum driven by demographic growth and economic ambition with Singapore as the regional hub.

The show alternates between Hong Kong on even years to capture opportunities in Greater China, and Singapore on odd years to target the Asia-Pacific market.

Organised by Vinexposium, the world’s leading event organiser for the wine and spirits industry, Vinexpo Asia was held at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 27 to 29 May, 2025.

The event gathered over 8,900 trade professionals including buyers from over 60 countries, with a particularly strong showing from Southeast Asia. The attendees comprised importers, distributors, hospitality and food and beverage operators and professionals, and e-commerce stakeholders.

Singapore: Southeast Asia’s Wine and Spirits Industry Hub

Rodolphe Lameyse, Chief Executive Officer of Vinexposium stressed that Vinexposium’s positive experience with Singapore as the host city since the first Singapore event in 2023 has prompted Vinexpo Asia to return in 2025.

“We are so pleased with the efficiency of Singapore; the connectivity, the transportation, the commodities that are offered in Singapore, that it was obvious for us that we will come back in 2025,” Lameyse said.

He also cited Singapore’s role as the regional hub for the wine and spirits industry in Southeast Asia, and its mature market, where consumers have refined taste in terms of wine tasting and consuming, as determining factors.

The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Gan Siow Huang, Singapore's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade & Industry, and 15 ambassadors, reflecting the city state’s commitment to the wine and spirit industry as well as strong diplomatic engagement involved.

Among the exhibitors at the event, the national and regional pavilions from France, Italy, China, the USA and Australia drew sustained attention.

In her address, Gan said that with over 600 million people and a rising middle class in Southeast Asia, the wine and spirits industry can benefit from the region’s economic growth. Already, alcohol beverage revenue in Southeast Asia is projected to rise by about 10% from 2023 to 2027, she added.

Rich Programme: Masterclasses, Conferences and Discovery Tastings

At the heart of Vinexpo Asia 2025 is the Vinexpo Academy, a programme that revolved around high-level masterclasses, conferences, and discovery tastings.

Over 30 conferences and masterclasses were held to provide attendees with knowledge, actionable insights and practical tools to stay ahead and seize new opportunities in a shifting global landscape, while deepening their understanding of the Asian market, a pivotal growth region in the global wine and spirits trade industry. The sessions explored themes ranging from premiumisation and emerging markets to evolving consumer behaviour and new generations of drinkers.

Meeting the Best in the Trade

During the three-day event, participants were able to meet experts and top sommeliers from around the world, to test their knowledge, discover unique know-how and vintages, and to better understand the issues and challenges faced by the wine and spirits markets.

Guo Cong, General Manager of Chateau Xianghai in China’s Xinjiang region, said Vinexpo Asia was a great platform to connect with importers, sommeliers and buyers across Southeast Asia.

“And also, we have learned a lot from the producers. They are the producers attending this exhibition. They gave us a lot of insights about how to position our wines into different areas in the Asia Pacific region,” Guo said.

Delivering Commercial Outcomes

Through Vinexposium’s business matching platform at the event, 4,253 qualified business meetings were scheduled, facilitating commercial outcomes including confirmed orders and new distributor partnerships across the region.

One beneficiary was Familia Zuccardi winery in Argentina, which counted Asia as an important market with many opportunities for the company.

“We made a lot of connections; new connections to make business in Asia,” said Leandro Lowi, the winery’s Export Director.

Ian Ford, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nimbility, an agency that works with producers to expand in Asian markets, highlighted Singapore’s leading position as a food and beverage destination, as well as a trading hub for wine.

“Singapore has always been, and will always be, a centre of excellence for the food and beverage trade in the F&B industry. We see Singaporean professionals all across the region in leadership roles in F&B, and there's such a dynamic and vibrant food and beverage environment here in Singapore,” Ford said.

Singapore: Where Wine and Spirits Players Connect and Grow

Singapore holds a significant position in the Asia Pacific wine and spirit industry – a mature market with increasingly sophisticated consumers, and a crucial regional trade hub for re-export to the rest of the region.

Coupled with its strategic location, world-class infrastructure and venue facilities for global and regional events, attendees agree that Singapore makes an ideal host city for Vinexpo Asia 2025.

“From our point of view, Singapore is obviously a very dynamic hospitality scene. And obviously, wine being very centre in all these restaurants, it’s a good opportunity for us as a sommelier to tell great stories,” said Jean-Baptiste Copot, Director of Wine for Black Sheep Restaurants.
