Event Overview

SEMICON Southeast Asia is the leading industry event for the micro-electronics and semiconductor industry in Southeast Asia amid the region’s rise as a world-class electronics manufacturing hub with end-to-end research and development capabilities. The event returned to Singapore in 2025 to celebrate and mark its 30th anniversary milestone.

It was organised by SEMI Southeast Asia, the regional office of the global industry association SEMI. SEMI is a worldwide organization that serves the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing supply chain.

Held from 20-22 May, 2025 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, the show reigns as Southeast Asia’s premium platform for industry leaders, innovators and decision-makers to engage, collaborate and drive forward technological progress, as well as showcase the most advanced products and the most up-to-date market and technology trends.

This year’s event drew over 26,000 delegates from more than 50 countries around the world. They included industry leaders and C-suite executives, innovators, academia and global policymakers in the global electronics manufacturing and semiconductor supply chain sector.

The event featured more than 250 speakers, and over 700 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions. It also hosted numerous foreign dignitaries and 10 high-level international delegations from China, the European Union, Japan, Malaysia, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and the Netherlands.

Singapore: the heart of Southeast Asia’s semiconductor industry

The event’s return to Singapore for its 30th year milestone marks a homecoming to the heart of Southeast Asia's semiconductor industry. It underscores Singapore’s pivotal role in the global semiconductor ecosystem, underpinned by its dynamic business environment, strategic location and robust infrastructure.

Travers Lim, Director, Program & Business Development of SEMI Southeast Asia highlighted Singapore’s role as a regional headquarter hub with strong manpower and state-of-the-art infrastructure in advancing the growth of the global semiconductor industry.

“Singapore is a global semiconductor hub, contributing over 10% of the world's semiconductors output where the international semiconductor leaders and companies converge to build resilient supply chains,” Lim said.

“This milestone edition truly demonstrates how far we have come and the significance of both Singapore and the region in advancing the growth of the global semiconductor industry.”

Stronger Together: Driving Global Collaboration and Innovation in Semiconductors

SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025 was opened on 20 May 2025 by guest-of-honour, Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry. Dr Tien Wu, Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc (ASE) delivered the industry keynote speech, Redefining the Collective Value of the Semiconductor Industry, setting the event’s tone and theme of “Stronger Together”.

Over three days, delegates experienced the scale of this year’s event –which reflected the strategic depth of the semiconductor value chain – via a range of high-impact and immersive programmes.

The sessions provided insights on industry trends, innovations and critical areas like sustainability, artificial intelligence (AI), chiplet technology, and workforce development.

A key highlight was the introduction of the CEO Summit, designed to elevate strategic discussions among top global semiconductor leaders, including the CEOs and Presidents of Applied Materials, GlobalFoundries, Infineon Technologies, Sandisk, and Soitec.

The participation of foreign dignitaries and high-level delegations reinforced international collaboration between industry players and government agencies to strengthen cooperation and research and development (R&D).

Brigit Van Dijk, Chief Executive Officer, Brabant Development Agency, said their participation in the show not only celebrates 60 years of bilateral relations between the Netherlands and Singapore but also reflects Brabant and Singapore’s Economic Development Board’s aim to deepen collaboration in R&D, particularly in talent exchange and strengthening the semiconductor industry in both countries.

“The 16 companies that are here in this Dutch pavilion, many of them are not only looking for new markets, opportunities or collaboration on R&D, but also to expand their business into this region,” she said.

Innovative Networking Across Iconic Singapore Venues

The event also featured an extensive lineup of curated networking programmes designed to go beyond traditional meet-and-greet opportunities. These initiatives fostered meaningful collaboration, strengthened business partnerships, and opened doors for strategic alliances across the semiconductor value chain.

An exclusive networking golf session Golf@SEMICON Southeast Asia was held at the Sentosa Golf Club on 19 May, a day before the event opened, bringing together the industry's most influential figures to establish key relationships and explore potential collaborations.

On the opening night of the event, a Night of Leaders: Dinner & Awards honoured outstanding individuals shaping the region’s semiconductor future at The Clifford Pier, Fullerton Bay Hotel.

On the second evening, CHIPFEST@SEMICON was held at Marquee Singapore, the city’s largest and immersive nightclub, for industry leaders, partners and clients to gather and celebrate a decade of semiconductor growth, collaboration and connection.

The Star Buyers Program offered SEMI Southeast Asia exhibitors and members to directly connect with leading industry buyers, such as GlobalFoundries, Micron Technology, STATS ChipPAC, STMicroelectronics, which are seeking new suppliers and innovative solutions.

Another was handshake@SEMICON, a series of country-specific networking sessions organised by investment and trade agencies from the EU, Malaysia, Singapore and Sweden, offering access to international market insights and partnership leads.

Pankaj Krishnan Nandakumar, Area Sales Director of HCLTech and a delegate stressed how the event being in Singapore, where senior executives congregate, was a boon to strengthening business relationships.

“Singapore is a very strategic location for us. This is the place where we can meet the key clients who are already working with us at HCLTech,” said Nandakumar.

“We are also looking for meeting up clients who can be our prospective customers for the future,” he said.

Singapore: facilitating semiconductor industry connections and expansion

With its world-class logistics, venues and an ecosystem for international events, Singapore is a strategic location to connect and collaborate to expand business opportunities.

SEMICON Southeast Asia 2025 is an exemplary case in point, as event attendees built meaningful connections across the semiconductor ecosystem – exploring new markets and regional expansion, strengthening R&D collaborations, talent exchange and industry development.

Singapore is also a hub for global and regional corporate headquarters, thereby offering further access and convenience to attendees.

Eyal Segev, Marketing Director of Camtek Ltd and a speaker at the event, stressed that Singapore boasts of an ecosystem that enables companies to build their regional headquarters here.

He also praised Singapore’s connectivity to the rest of world and within the city, as well as the infrastructure for global tradeshows.

“From the moment you land in Changi Airport, which is the best airport in the world, it is very convenient to arrive from anywhere in the world,” Segev said.

“The transportation all over Singapore is convenient. The accommodation, hotels, and the venue are super modern. All the infrastructure around here supporting such events is really the highest standards that I’ve seen in exhibitions around the world.”
