Event Overview

Life Science Intelligence (LSI), a leading MedTech market intelligence firm, launched its inaugural Asian summit in Singapore in 2025, providing a platform for innovators to connect with capital, strategic partners and expertise.

LSI Asia 2025 marked a pivotal expansion of LSI’s mission to support innovators to scale globally, amid Asia Pacific’s emergence as a global MedTech hub. It is LSI’s 10th summit and the third in its global Emerging MedTech Summit series, after establishing events in the US and Europe.

Held from 10–13 June 2025 at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, LSI Asia drew more than 400 attendees from across the world, including innovators, investors, strategic corporate players, senior leaders and partners from global MedTech and healthcare industries. They had convened for meaningful engagements on next-generation technologies like artificial intelligence-powered diagnostics, robotics, advanced imaging and digital therapeutics.

Where East Meets West in Medtech Expertise

Asia Pacific’s transformation into “a hotbed for innovation, capital, manufacturing and business development” in MedTech, coupled with the fact that over half of the world’s population reside in the region were critical drivers for the introduction of the Asian edition, said LSI Chief Executive Officer Scott Pantel.

Countries like Singapore, China, South Korea, and India are also leading in surgical volume growth and attracting significant venture and strategic investment.

According to Pantel, Singapore was chosen as a host city for the inaugural Asia event because of its advanced research and development capabilities, world-class MedTech infrastructure, and its commercial-stage, globally competitive technologies. The city also boasts of a robust regulatory framework and a supportive government, as well as a vibrant investment landscape with prominent institutional investors, he said.

“Singapore is a natural choice for us to bring our event because of its location. And it's a country with a long history of innovation. In our view, this is the opportunity for the East to meet West and to really grow the medical device industry by doing cross border deals, cross border partnering, and launching this industry into the future.”

Bridging Ideas and Capital to Accelerate MedTech Growth in Asia-Pacific

The programme for the four-day event featured 75 presentations from startups in Asia Pacific and the rest of world, keynote speeches and workshops by industry thought leaders, curated one-on-one partnering sessions as well as networking sessions designed for dealmaking.

Delegates heard from leading industry leaders, including decision-makers at Intuitive Surgical, Siemens and Medtronic, shaping the healthcare and MedTech industries. The discussions covered how globally-consequential innovation at the forefront of deep tech, robotics, AI can address challenges related to chronic diseases like cardiovascular diseases and diseases of ageing.

“The panel sessions featured Asian top leaders and MedTech companies. It's a whole new perspective and a whole new set of people that I would not ordinarily run into,” said Lloyd Mencinger, President & CEO of Aqua Medical, a startup.

Attending the event, Mencinger said, allowed him to meet his business objective – connecting with potential investors. He also noted that attendees from the region were drawn to the event and Singapore because of the “vibrant [MedTech] community and ecosystem”.

An Innovation Hub Shaping the Future of Healthcare

Helen Yang, Senior Vice President & Chief Investment Officer of Fosun Pharma and an event speaker, pointed out that Singapore is not only the “the innovation hub of Asian countries”, but its multi-cultural environment is ideal to bridge the difference between eastern and western cultures.

“We believe that to make a deal happen, we would try to bridge the cultures to set trust through communication and collaboration,” she said.

LSI Asia wrapped up with an industry tour and networking programme, “Medtech Showcase with LSI”, hosted by MedTech Actuator and Enterprise Singapore.

It offered a glimpse into Singapore’s Medtech Manufacturing hub, featuring homegrown startups and health-tech ecosystem players in the areas of quality design and development, precision engineering, and advanced manufacturing of global medical devices, powering the future of healthcare.

Singapore: Fertile Ground for Scaling MedTech Innovation

Singapore has cultivated a thriving MedTech ecosystem that boasts of advanced infrastructure and capabilities across the value chain – from R&D, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and a robust regulatory framework. It is also home to the top MedTech and healthcare companies in the world.

Such a fertile ground for scaling ideas in global business is ideal to support LSI Asia’s focus to connect innovation with capital and build a future where more cutting-edge technologies save and improve lives worldwide.

In addition, the city’s top-notch conference venues and facilities aligned with LSI’s commitment to high-impact, in-person collaboration and networking.

Eduardo Fonseca, CEO of XCath, described LSI as a vital connector for the industry.

“LSI has always been a fantastic platform for MedTech. It's a place for meeting and gathering. And I'm very happy that the first edition in Asia is here.

He added that Singapore’s strategic position makes it ideal for growth.

“Singapore is one of the major gateways to Asia. It has a network of partners that operate across the region, so it's incredibly convenient to do business in one place and look at potential distributors, partners, technology partners that could potentially down the road help commercialise technologies like ours. There are a lot of key opinion leaders that operate out of Singapore and have a lot of influence in the region,” Fonseca said.
