Event Overview

ITMA ASIA + CITME, Singapore 2025 marked the expansion of Asia's premier textile and garment technology exhibition to a second regional hub.

Building on the success of the biennial Shanghai exhibition since 2008, this Singapore edition brought together ITMA, the world-renowned exhibition for textile machinery innovation, and the China International Textile Machinery Exhibition (CITME).

The exhibition is jointly owned by the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers (CEMATEX) and its Chinese partners, including the China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT TEX). It is designed to help industry players modernise production capabilities and source sustainable solutions across the entire textile value chain.

Held at the Singapore Expo from 28-31 October 2025, the exhibition drew visitorship of over 26,600 from 109 countries and regions. Some 92% of the visitors came from overseas, with 35% of them from South Asia and 30% from Southeast Asia. The top three visitor countries were: India (19%), China (11%), and Indonesia (10%). Other countries in the top 10 list included Bangladesh, Pakistan, Vietnam and Malaysia.

Visitors comprised representatives from textile and garment manufacturers, brands and retailers, processing specialists, industry professionals, industry associations and government bodies.

Exhibitors represented 19 product sectors spanning the entire textile and garment manufacturing value chain, showcasing solutions from machinery and automation to processing, finishing and sustainability-focused technologies.

Singapore’s strategic location: access to Asia’s high-growth textile markets

The show owners attributed the strong showing for ITMA ASIA + CTME to Singapore’s strategic location, conducive business environment with world-class MICE infrastructure and seamless visitor experience, supported by a visa-friendly policy.

Alex Zucchi, President of CEMATEX, said Singapore was chosen for its convenience and accessibility, offering direct access to the fast-growing textile markets in Asia.

“There is a huge demand from this region, which is a major global hub for textiles,” Mr Zucchi pointed out. “The region represents around 54% of the global textile demand, so it makes absolute sense to start from Singapore.”

Singapore: trade and innovation hub connecting machinery makers with buyers

The textile and garment industry in South and Southeast Asia is emerging as a major global supplier as manufacturers adopt cutting-edge production processes and sustainable practices to increase their competitiveness.

As a thriving hub for trade and innovation, Singapore is uniquely positioned to link Asia’s top garment manufacturers intend on scaling up operations with the world’s leading textile machinery makers.

Furthermore, the city state also serves as the ideal springboard for regional markets, affording machinery makers unparalleled access to the rapidly growing textile and garment industries across Asia.

“It attracts participants not just from Asia, but also from Europe and North America, providing a truly global stage that is excellent for brand building,” said Mr Zheng who hailed the event as a “perfect platform” for his company to grow both its international and Asian businesses.
