EXCELLENT MICE VENUES, HOTELS AND LEISURE EXPERIENCES
According to Amy Lim, director of Events for Asia Pacific at Herbalife Nutrition, Singapore was chosen for the event as the destination met the company’s requirements and stood out in terms of its excellent international connectivity, venues, safety, hygiene, quality of attractions and leisure experiences.
“Singapore venues and hotels played a large part in [our] decision making,” said Lin. “The readiness of each event space and its capacity were critical points for us to consider when selecting Singapore as a destination.”
Singapore Expo, for instance, has the capability to hold turnkey events because of its “really large exhibition halls” that enabled Herbalife Nutrition to conduct all its activities in a single location, she added. Halls 2, 4, 5 and 6 as well as the Peridot Room allowed the organiser to hold multiple breakout sessions, seminars, meals and other activities during the retreat flexibly and with ease.
Furthermore, the support Herbalife Nutrition received from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) was critical for the retreat’s programmes to proceed without a hitch, particularly in putting together the various lifestyle activities and training programmes throughout.
The tourism board, for instance, provided integral assistance to Herbalife Nutrition by connecting Lim and her team with key local suppliers and attraction operators – some of whom they had lost touch with during the pandemic.
MAKING FUN MEMORIES
The strong support given, not just by STB but by venue operators, was another reason that Herbalife Nutrition’s Lifestyle Day, a key highlight of the three-day retreat, went ahead as smoothly and without complications as it did despite the many moving parts involved.
Lim said the major challenge on the day involved transporting over 1,700 participating distributors to four attractions at the same time. The delegates had lunch at Singapore Expo before they were transported to the four attractions: Gardens by the Bay, Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa, Mega Adventure Singapore in Sentosa and the Singapore Zoo.
“The logistics involved over 55 buses departing from Singapore Expo all within an hour,” Lim shared. “We had over 500 participants visiting each of the locations, and had to work very closely with each attraction [to make sure there] were no complications with the logistics and planning”.
The effort was all worth it though. Thrill-seeking delegates had the time of their lives on the various exhilarating theme park rides at Universal Studios Singapore, or ziplining and bouncing their afternoon away at Mega Adventure Singapore. Nature lovers, too, had their fill of the myriad flora and fauna on offer at Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore Zoo, respectively.
Lim shared how the Herbalife Nutrition distributors thoroughly enjoyed all the activities planned for them, and were very impressed by the hygiene standards at each of the venues.
They were also treated to memorable welcome and farewell dinners. More than 200 tables were set up at the Singapore Expo for the welcome dinner, which featured entertainment by a local band and an interactive photo-taking booth - making sure the memories made here were captured for posterity.
The successful conclusion of the Herbalife Nutrition Asia Pacific Future President’s Team Retreat 2022 is just a harbinger for bigger things to come. The company will hold its Herbalife APAC Extravaganza 2023 in Singapore with about 20,000 participants expected, so watch this space.
