Ocean Dreams

Crawl into a sleeping bag and let the calming blue hues of the Open Ocean Habitat lull you to sleep during your Ocean Dreams experience at S.E.A. Aquarium™ in Resorts World™ Sentosa. The 2D1N tour includes a 90-minute after-hours guided tour of the entire aquarium, with the guides making stops along the way to explain more about aquatic life such as manta rays, coral reefs and sharks. You will even get a chance to feed the smaller fish during the tour. There’ll be fun games for the whole family and dinner is included. 

When you wake up the following day, the aquarium will have a little surprise in store for you—divers will swim over to your section, bearing banners that wish you a good morning.

Admission is priced from S$158/adult and S$138/child (six to 12 years old) or senior (60 years and older), with a family package that grants access to two adults and two children available at S$548. Race Against Time – Science Behind a Botanic Garden Tour

Held every fourth Saturday of the month, Race Against Time – Science Behind a Botanic Garden Tour is a free 45-minute walk around the research facilities of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The tour takes you to the Herbarium, where records of reference plant materials dating as far back as the 1790s are kept, and to the Orchid and Micro-propagation laboratory, where you can learn all about the garden’s orchid hybridisation programme. Here, you can catch a glimpse of researchers performing experiments on small plants and flowers. The tour also includes a visit to the Library of Botany and Horticulture, which is a museum showcasing botanical specimens and botanical illustrations.

Registration starts 15 minutes before the tour is scheduled to start, and is limited to 25 people, aged nine and up.

Esplanade Tour

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a famous actor or musician? Then hop on this tour at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. It grants you backstage access to the city’s largest performing arts venue, where you can find out how major productions like Les Misérables are brought to life. 

The two-hour Esplanade Tour is held every Monday, and it takes you through the Concert Hall and Theatre, dropping by the orchestra pit, dressing rooms and artists’ lounge before ending with some light refreshments. The tours, which are conducted in English, are priced at S$30 for adults and S$24 for students (aged 12 and above) and seniors (60 years and older).

Wild Discoverer Tour

Get up close and personal with monkeys and creepy-crawlies when you sign up for the Singapore Zoo’s Wild Discoverer Tour. Jump aboard a buggy and be whisked through the zoo’s most popular exhibits, as a guide explains how they care for the various beasts. Then pop into the Fragile Forest to learn more about invertebrates like Madagascan hissing cockroaches and rhinoceros beetles. Finally, at the zoo’s Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia, you’ll be treated to the cheeky antics of a hundred Hamadryas baboons as they are fed.

The tour runs several times a day, and costs S$38/adult and S$25/child (three to 12 years old). Tour groups are kept to a maximum of seven people. The ticket price also includes same-day admission to the Singapore Zoo.

Panda Rise and Shine

They’re big, they’re furry and they’re incredibly adorable. Giant pandas Jia Jia and Kai Kai are the River Safari’s stars, and on this tour, you will get to bid them a good morning before the regular visitors arrive. Panda Rise and Shine takes you to the back-of-house areas of the Giant Panda Forest, where you can watch the zookeepers perform morning check-ups on the loveable bears. Here, you’ll also get to help the staff prepare breakfast for the pandas before settling down for your own meal at Mama Panda Restaurant. Memorialise the day by taking a photograph with the pandas. 

The tour, which runs for about two hours, is priced at S$350/person and can accommodate up to six people, with children having to be at least seven years old. Take note that the River Safari will block off dates to accommodate its panda-breeding programme, do check the website for updated information.

Bird’s Eye Tour

Enjoy a private buggy ride around the Jurong Bird Park on the Bird’s Eye Tour. Taking place over 90 minutes, the tour brings you to the best spots of the park, including the Lory Loft, the world’s largest lory aviary, and the Waterfall Aviary, which is home to a 30-metre-tall waterfall and more than 600 birds of all feathers. Get up close with ostriches, cassowaries, swans and more as you take part in feeding sessions.

The 90-minute tour takes place three times a day, and costs S$38/adult and S$25/child.

Singapore Sports Hub Venue Tours

Wear comfortable shoes for this one. The Singapore Sports Hub Venue Tour takes you on a 90-minute guided walk through all 35 hectares of the fitness and lifestyle hub. The tour gets you exclusive entry into the National Stadium when it’s not opened to the public. Your guide will also take you to the Singapore Sports Museum, where you can discover all about the history and evolution of our proud sportsmen and women through interactive exhibits. If you’re looking to fit in a quick workout, put in your request in advance and your guide might be able to fit in a climbing session at the fully air-conditioned indoor climbing wall at Climb Central over at the nearby Kallang Wave Mall.

Don’t forget to bring along a camera. As the Singapore Sports Hub is located right by the Kallang Basin, you’ll be able to enjoy and capture gorgeous waterfront views of the Singapore skyline from a different angle. The 90-minute tour takes place twice a day.
