Not many airports can boast of being a must-see tourist destination in their own right. But Jewel Changi—Singapore Changi Airport’s latest extension—certainly deserves the title.

An unparalleled fusion of design, architecture and lush nature, this world-class lifestyle hub is the perfect way to experience Singapore’s many charms. Here’s a one-day guide to get you started!

A marvel of modern engineering, the HSBC Rain Vortex is the centrepiece attraction of Jewel Changi. The world’s tallest indoor waterfall soars up to 40 metres, and is bound to inspire explorers who love both nature and architecture.

Start the day early with a leisurely stroll through the Shiseido Forest Valley. If you find a particularly charming spot and would like to have an impromptu picnic, there’s a wide array of breakfast and casual dining options at basement levels 1 and 2 available for takeaway.

Visitors craving a hot cup of Joe should drop by South Korean coffee chain dal.komm, while foodies looking to tickle their taste buds with local flavours can visit O’TAH. The latter serves up modern renditions of local classics like otah (spicy fish paste grilled in banana leaf) and nasi lemak (rice cooked in coconut milk, served with an array of side dishes).

Free entry is available for your child if he or she is below 90-centimetres in height.

After your movie, drop by Fairprice Finest—located on the same floor—for some souvenir shopping. This supermarket stocks an array of local ingredients and produce, such as kaya (a traditional jam made from coconut and eggs), cookies inspired by local flavours and even food-themed souvenirs like cushions and keychains.
