Overview

Singapore Zoo's world-famous naturalistic exhibits offer many opportunities to experience the wonders of wildlife, with more than 4,200 animals of over 300 species, of which 34 per cent are threatened. Every year, approximately 1.9 million visitors enjoy experiential learning journeys at the 26-hectare award-winning Zoo.

Singapore Zoo is dedicated to the highest standards of animal care and conservation, with a team of passionate wildlife professionals that look after all aspects of caring for the living collection. The Zoo is famous for its world-leading free-ranging orangutan exhibit and dedicates special attention to threatened primates and threatened southeast Asian chelonians.

Active in national and regional conservation projects, Singapore Zoo is also designated by the governing authority as the country’s centre for rescued wildlife.

The Zoo is part of Wildlife Reserves Singapore which is accredited by two of the top international regional zoo associations—European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), and Zoo and Aquarium Association of Australasia (ZAA).  It is also a member of the Southeast Asian Zoo and Aquarium Association (SEAZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

About Wildlife Reserves Singapore
Conserving nature and protecting wildlife are core to Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s (WRS) mission. WRS manages Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari and Singapore Zoo, which are conservation-focused zoological institutions. In providing meaningful and memorable wildlife experiences, WRS aims to grow an appreciation for nature in people and inspire them to value and conserve biodiversity. Each year, WRS’ four wildlife parks welcome over 4.6 million visitors from Singapore and around the world.

WRS is accredited by two of the top international regional zoo associations—European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), and Zoo and Aquarium Association of Australasia (ZAA). It is also a member of the Southeast Asian Zoo and Aquarium Association (SEAZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

A self-funded wildlife entity, WRS leads efforts in Singapore and Southeast Asia, collaborating with like-minded partners, organisations and institutions to actively intervene for animal species and habitats and protect biodiversity.

WRS’ parent company is Mandai Park Holdings (MPH) which oversees all business and strategic development. Through its development arm, MPH is also driving the rejuvenation and integration of spaces adjacent to its WRS parks at Mandai. As the area transforms into a wildlife and nature precinct, the capacity as centres for wildlife conservation will grow in tandem.

We also offer sustainability-themed MICE or corporate events and customise our tours, so everyone can see first-hand and appreciate what is done to keep our operations sustainable.

When you are taking part in our programmes, you are helping to contribute to the care of the animals, research and education programmes in all our parks, as well as the conservation projects we support to protect threatened species in Singapore and the region. Join us in our journey towards a sustainable future for us, for nature and for wildlife.
