Amway Case Study
The perfect blend of work and play for incentive groups
Singapore hosted the one of the largest incentive group from India in December 2018, when over 3,600 staff and business owners of Amway India came to mark the organisation’s 20th anniversary. A special five-day programme was planned with plenty of learning, team building and joyous celebrations.
Singapore’s frequent, convenient air connectivity with India and ease of travel visa arrangements allowed for smooth planning right from the start. Ms Aikta Tyagi, Vice President of Special Events at Amway India, said, “With its reputation as a safe and efficient city, Singapore is ideal for business and pleasure, especially for such a large entourage accompanied by their families.”
Aside from keeping up with business seminars at the Resorts WorldTM Sentosa Convention Centre, delegates were handed a programme to rest, relax and give themselves a pat on the back with various rewarding experiences.
For souvenirs and gifts, delegates shopped to their hearts’ content at Singapore’s main shopping belt, Orchard Road, where they also had the chance to view the famed Christmas light up which was on display for the holiday season.
Those who wanted to let their hair down and enjoy the city’s nightlife began with an evening on board the luxury tall ship, the Royal Albatross, before getting footloose on the dance floor at the iconic Marina Bay Sands rooftop club lounge Cé La Vie.
No effort was spared in planning family-friendly entertainment options, with attractions on Sentosa specially closed off for families to bond and engage in some serious fun together. Ms Tyagi said, “Being able to take your family along on a five-day trip is motivating and empowering. We know it is important to our employees to have family around, so that they are able to enjoy every moment of the visit here.”
Adults and children alike enjoyed the water rides, and came up close to marine creatures at the Adventure Cove Waterpark. Films and movie characters came alive with thematic rides, multimedia experiences and shows at Universal Studios Singapore, and the little ones had fun role-playing their dream jobs at KidZania.
For the first time, Amway India organised a 1 km Amwaython in appreciation of all the women within the organisation. “Women are the backbone of Amway India, and we have more than 60% in leadership positions,” highlighted Ms Tyagi. “For this special event, we had more than 1,500 participants running to clock their best times along Sentosa’s scenic Palawan Beach.”
