            National Day Singapore

            9 August 2025

Flags, fireworks and patriotic festivities abound in August, when Singapore celebrates her birthday.

            How We Celebrate

Formerly a British colony, Singapore gained independence on 9th August 1965. Singaporeans celebrate this proud day by turning the island red and white, with flags outside buildings and homes.

The National Day Parade itself has traditionally been held at the Padang, the former National Stadium and The Float @ Marina Bay. Festivities include spectacular military displays, multicultural song and dance performances and fireworks galore.

            Celebration Hotspots

Whether you're looking to join in the festivities, feast your eyes on fireworks or rub shoulders with patriotic Singaporeans, we've got you covered.
