The Singapore Tourism Awards gives recognition to the best attractions in Singapore — plan your 24-hour itinerary around these 2016 winners.
9am: Stay at The St. Regis
Pamper yourself with a stay at the St. Regis Singapore, where you can call one of their 299 luxury rooms and suites home. Bask in the hotel’s grandeur or step away from the city bustle for a bit of rest and relaxation at the hotel’s Remède Spa. The St. Regis Singapore is also situated in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s premier shopping district, so you’ll have the quintessential Singaporean shopping experience right at your doorstep.
From the St. Regis, head to Orchard Road MRT and take the train to Eunos MRT. From there, take a 15 minute walk to your next destination, The Intan.
11am: Go on the Signature Tea Tour
Immerse yourself in Peranakan (Straits-born Chinese) tradition at The Intan. A gem of a heritage house, The Intan (which aptly means ‘diamond’ in Malay) is nestled in the culturally rich enclave of Joo Chiat. Get a taste of authentic Peranakan flavour when you sign yourself up for a tea and tour with the Intan Signature Tea Experience. Be showed around the carefully curated and conserved antique Peranakan house and marvel at the multitude of vibrant relics like shoes, accessories, tiles and ceramics. Then, tuck into an array of Peranakan dishes, homemade kueh (small dessert cakes) and teas. The tea tours can take place at any time of day, and are $45 per person for a group of six.
Book your tea tour via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (+65 6440 1148).
Trace your steps back to Eunos MRT and take the train to City Hall MRT. Walk about 6 minutes down St. Andrew’s Road to National Gallery Singapore, and head inside to find your lunch spot, Odette.
1pm: Have lunch at Odette
Treat yourself to a two-Michelin-star lunch at Odette, Chef Julien Royer’s elegant restaurant located in the iconic National Gallery Singapore. Odette serves up Modern French cuisine with Royer’s artisanal touch, presenting diners with an array of tantalising flavours — opt for a 4-course lunch or an 8-course tasting menu. Odette seats just 40 at a time, and is well-known for how sought after their tables are, so book ahead for this one.
Step right outside the restaurant and spend the afternoon sightseeing at The National Gallery Singapore.
