All participants in the Contest ("Participants") are bound by the following terms and conditions:

  1. Users that sign up for the e-newsletter on STB's website at http://www.visitsingapore.com/racer will become eligible to enter the Contest, subject to these terms and conditions. To participate in the Contest, eligible users may visit STB's website at http://www.visitsingapore.com/racer.

    Mechanics of the Contest
  2. Fifty-Two (52) prizes will be given out to participants in the Contest that clock the shortest timings on the online Uniquely Singapore Race.
  3. The best scores will be determined based on shortest race timings registered at STB's server. Users are free to make as many attempts as they wish. In the event of a tie, the prize in question will be split amongst winners.
  4. The winners will be announced on 18 September at the Brand Management Division, Singapore Tourism Board, Tourism Court, 1 Orchard Spring Lane, Singapore 247729.
  5. Subject to Clauses 11 to 14 (Eligibility) below, scores registered before 5:00 pm, Singapore time (GMT+8), 14 September 2008, will qualify for the Contest.
  6. The winners will be notified by email, sent within 14 working days, following the announcement of the winners. Each winner shall acknowledge receipt of such notice in the manner and within the time limit prescribed by STB, failing which STB shall be entitled to treat the prize as forfeited and award it to the reserve winner.
  7. STB may select any number of reserve winners in any priority as STB deems necessary to replace any winner who fails to acknowledge receipt of STB's notification of his/her win or as STB otherwise stipulates, or who have been disqualified or found ineligible to participate in the Contest.
  8. All finally unclaimed prizes shall be forfeited or disposed off at the discretion of STB.
  9. The winners will also be announced on the Uniquely Singapore Racer website (http://www.visitsingapore.com/racer) until 10 October 2008.

    Eligibility
  10. The Contest is open to all persons, provided they are not (1) employees of STB (including employees of its representative offices), (2) employees of authorised agencies and principal sponsors, or (3) immediate family members of persons described in (1) and (2) above.
  11. Corporate or other entities are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
  12. Multiple attempts / entries in the Contest are allowed. However, each Participant is eligible to win only one prize in the Contest. If an individual Participant registers more than one score within the top 52 scores, the prizes will be awarded to the Participants with the next best scores.
  13. The Participant warrants that all information, details and particulars submitted by him/her to STB are true, accurate, complete and up to date. Entries that do not meet this requirement will be disqualified from the Contest.

    Prizes
  14. The first prize for Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents or holders of work permits, employment passes, student passes or other passes or permits for long term stay in Singapore for work, business or any profession or occupation in Singapore, consists of a pair of SGP Season event passes.
  15. For participants that do not qualify as Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents or holders of work permits, employment passes, student passes or other passes or permits for long term stay in Singapore for work, business or any profession or occupation in Singapore, the first prize consists of a 2-night stay at a Singapore-based hotel. The prize will also include 2 return economy class air tickets to Singapore, departing from an airport nominated by STB.
  16. The remaining 50 consolation prizes consists of a Uniquely Singapore goodie bag, comprising of Uniquely Singapore premiums.
  17. All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash, credit or benefit in-kind and are not inclusive of foreign duties (if any) and other related expenses, all of which are the sole responsibility of the winners.
  18. All prizes are subject to the validity periods and any other terms and conditions as may be imposed by the prize sponsors.

    Rights of STB
  19. STB reserves the right at any time in its absolute discretion and without prior notice to any Participant:
    • To cancel, postpone, suspend or modify the Contest or any part thereof;
    • To make changes to these terms and conditions, whereupon all Participants shall be bound by the terms and conditions as varied by STB; and/or
    • To substitute, withdraw or cancel any prize or prize sponsor without disclosing any reason therefore and without any payment or compensation whatsoever.
  20. STB's decisions on all matters relating to the Contest, including but not limited to the eligibility of any Participant or entry, conduct of the Contest, the selection, replacement or substitution of any winner and/or the prizes, forfeiture or disposal of any prize, are final, conclusive and binding on all Participants, and no correspondence will be entertained.

    Obligations of Participants and winners
  21. By entering the Contest, each Participant consents to the public disclosure by STB of their names, identification numbers, any part of the Participant's entry in the Contest and any statement, comment or quotation that the Participant may give, and the reproduction, adaptation and translation into any language and publication of the same by STB.
  22. Each Participant warrants and undertakes to STB that he/she is the participant named on the entry and that all information submitted is true, accurate, complete and up to date to the best of his/her knowledge. Participants shall provide STB with such proof of identity, residence and/or citizenship as STB may require from time to time.
  23. Participants further agree to participate in, at his/her own expense, prize presentation ceremonies and all other publicity events in Singapore or elsewhere in relation to the contest, without payment or compensation. In addition, to be eligible for the prizes, all winners shall sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, release of liability, publicity release giving us and/or our advertising and promotion agencies permission to use his/her name, picture, image and voice for publicity purposes connected with this promotion without payment or compensation. Failure to provide such documents to us duly signed or to comply with any term and conditions therein shall result in disqualification or ineligibility for prizes.

    Liability
  24. STB and STB's representative offices, authorized agencies and sponsors, and the directors, officers, employees and assignees thereof (individually and collectively the "Organiser") shall not be liable for (1) any claims, damages, losses, injury or inconvenience arising out of or in connection with the Contest, any participation in the Contest or any prize, including without limitation any loss or disqualification of any entry and any delay in, or failure or omission to provide the Contest or any prize or the award thereof to any person; (2) any event of force majeure, including without limitation any calamity or conditions, acts of God, war or warlike hostilities, civil commotion, riots, blockades, embargoes, sabotages, strikes, fires, lockouts, shortages of material or labour, terrorist activity, epidemic, quarantine restrictions, health risk or any other occurrence beyond STB's reasonable control or that of any of STB's representative offices, authorized agencies and sponsors; (3) any entries or other communications that have been lost, late, illegible, incomplete, tampered with, corrupted, mutilated, misdirected or undelivered for any reason; or (4) any defect, failure, interruption, breakdown, malfunction, delay or unavailability of any postal services, machine, computer system, hardware, software, data processing system, email account, communications network or transmission link or other cause that in any way prevents or limits any person's ability to submit a valid entry to the Contest or receive communications or that causes any damage to any person's computer systems.
  25. Each Participant (including his/her heirs, executors and/or administrators) shall further indemnify and hold the Organiser harmless from and against any and all claims, losses or damage arising out of or in connection with the Contest, any prize, any breach of any obligation or warranty set out these terms and conditions and/or his/her acts or omissions in relation thereto and hereby releases and discharges the Organiser from any and all such claims, losses and damage arising out of or in connection thereto.

    General
  26. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and all Participants and winners submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore Courts in the determination of any matter or dispute arising in connection therewith.
  27. These terms and conditions are not intended to confer rights on any third party, whether pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap 53B) or otherwise, and no third party shall have any right to enforce any provision of these terms and conditions.
