Try Korean food
Korean food is increasingly popular in Singapore, and the plethora of dining options in Tanjong Pagar is a testament to this. Kko Kko Nara (68 Tanjong Pagar Road) is one of the first restaurants to bring Korean fried chicken to Singapore and it serves up a range of flavours ranging from the spicy to the sweet. It’s open till 3am on weekdays and Saturdays – perfect for those late nights after a series of meetings.
For excellent Korean BBQ, visit Han Kook Gwan (26 Tanjong Pagar Road) for its samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly), and Wang Dae Bak (98 Amoy Street), which uses charcoal grills. And if you love samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), look no further than Oh Neul Han Jeom (177 Telok Ayer Street).
Get a slice of New York right in the heart of Tanjong Pagar. The original speakeasy from the Big Apple has constantly appeared on international 'best bars' lists, and its Singapore outpost has been winning over crowds too. Keep with the New York theme and order a Manhattan, or go for something more fancy like a Drunken Dragon's Milk with green tea vodka and five-spice bitters.
