Are we really engaging? This is the burning question that MICE industry professionals and event organisers will be addressing when they convene for the Singapore MICE Forum (SMF) 2017. Held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, the focus of this year’s forum is squarely on getting the industry to RE:imagine #EngagE. Delegates can look forward to an exciting line-up of inspiring programmes and workshops that will help equip them with the right know-how to engage effectively with their audiences and community.

The SMF 2017 will see noted economist Song Seng Wun share his insights on the global and regional trends that impact the MICE industry.

The Director of Group Private Banking at CIMB Private Banking is a self-confessed foodie, and his presentations for CIMB’s signature Coffee Conversations are known to be lively and peppered with food analogies. He will no doubt extend his delicious brand of economic analysis and style to his address, scheduled at 11am on July 27.

The spotlight will also shine on Geoff Meyer, Managing Director at IRONMAN Asia, whose series of events worldwide enjoy the largest participation of any sporting platform, and Xiong Lingyi, founder of 01 Studio and producer of the popular Wah!Banana YouTube channel, which is the most-subscribed comedy channel in Singapore.

The dynamic duo will be presenting a session titled The Challenge of Creating and Developing Communities, and share how different industries grow and engage their audiences into sustainable and thriving communities.

Other highlights include thought leadership programmes such as Painting the Future: Vision 2050, a TED Talk-like segment presented by the industry’s next generation leaders from tertiary institutions in Singapore about their vision of engaging meetings in the future, and The New Value Story, which throws the spotlight on business value propositions that industry players should review and redefine to remain relevant. The New Value Story features speakers Rod Cameron, Executive Director of ED, AIPC – the International Association of Convention, Melissa Ow, Deputy Chief Executive of Singapore Tourism Board, and Aloysius Arlando, CEO of Singex Holdings.
