24th Edition of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) Annual Meeting
The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), held its Annual Meeting at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 7 to 13 May 2016. ISMRM is a multi-disciplinary non-profit association that promotes the innovation, development, and application of magnetic resonance techniques in medicine and biology throughout the world.
Into its 24th edition, the event drew over 7,000 medical professionals from 58 countries to exchange ideas and share about the latest developments and applications of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as to learn about the development of technology that would allow more patients to be scanned at a lower cost.
The 2016 annual meeting gathered key professionals from around the world. Nearly 6,000 professionals submitted abstracts for presentation at the meeting, which promised new and valuable knowledge that aided in advancing the science of magnetic resonance in medicine. Singapore provided the perfect venues for the event. The Suntec Convention Centre was booked for the conference and opening reception; the Gardens by the Bay was the venue for the “Newbie” reception; offsite events and receptions were held at Sentosa island; and the closing party was held at Makansutra Glutton’s Bay. One highlight at the Suntec Convention Centre is “The Big Picture” which is the largest HD video wall in the world. Besides offering delegates a unique, impactful and grand sense of arrival, the customised motion graphics were also programmed to display the teaser to ISMRM’s next Annual Meeting in Hawaii.
