IMEX America, North America’s largest worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, returned from 18 to 20 October 2016 at the Sands Expo® and Convention Center at The Venetian® in Las Vegas.

Aside from the main exhibition, the tradeshow offered a comprehensive range of activities from educational sessions and forums with visionary thinkers, leading associations and industry groups, to award ceremonies, student courses and challenges. Show highlights included a series of educational seminars at the Inspiration Hub on the show floor, late-night networking events, and a 'Get Well' zone where event planners could decompress between meetings. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives such as Garbage Grabbers-Clean Up Las Vegas and IMEX run, which attracted more than 800 runners, were also well received.

This sixth edition was the largest and drew record participation of 3,216 incentive travel, corporate and association hosted buyers from more than 60 countries, with the majority of buyers from the United States and Canada. It was attended by over 10,000 delegates across three days, marking a 14% increase in total participants, and welcomed 3,250 exhibitors from 139 countries. These included 69 new booths and another 69 exhibitors who increased their booth space.

Another important new pinnacle reached was the number of appointments. More than 60,000 individual appointments and booth presentations were made, while there were 10,000 attendances by buyers at group appointments.

Some 16 local industry partners participated in the Singapore pavilion and Singapore once again stood out on the show floor with its lush green pavilion, bringing the City in a Garden theme alive for visitors.

The pavilion also featured a Peranakan experience corner, where Alvin Yapp from The Intan was invited to showcase the unique Straits Chinese culture.

Another popular feature of the pavilion was a bar serving a cocktail that was specially created by CÉ LA VI Singapore for the event. The Nonya Shake featured ingredients commonly found in Peranakan food and was a great hit among visitors.
