A BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE LOCAL MICE CHAMPIONS!
Since 2006, the contributions of notable professionals to Singapore’s Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry have been recognised through the Conference Ambassador Programme (CAP)

Singapore has consistently ranked as Asia’s Top Convention City for the 13th consecutive year in 2014, according to the latest global rankings by the International Congress and Convention Association. One of the key driving forces behind this achievement is the effort of MICE professionals who fortify the city’s strength in hosting international meetings and events.
“Behind many successful congresses and meetings are passionate local champions that collaborate to secure the event for Singapore,” explains Jeannie Lim, Executive Director, Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau™ (SECB).
“The greatest benefit is the opportunity to tap on their collective insight to create, bid, and chair conferences. All the networking and camaraderie that goes on among members is a great source of motivation,” shares Professor Perry Shum, Director of the Centre for Optical Fibre Technology, Nanyang Technological University, on his experience as a CAP member.
The CAP identifies passionate professionals who work hard to deliver the best quality content and unique experiences in business meetings. These ambassadors are recognised experts or key opinion leaders in their field.
SECB runs the programme and currently has 45 such ambassadors from fields such as healthcare, education and engineering. The ambassadors contribute insights and expertise from their fields to promote Singapore as a destination for business events, and in turn get opportunities to learn from and network with other industry leaders.
CAP is an exclusive, by-invitation programme.
Ambassadors are appointed for a two-year term, after which their membership may be renewed. Those selected for this programme will get priority access to professional education on conference and association management, attend exclusive events to network, and have guest speaking opportunities at various local platforms.
The CAP is an excellent opportunity for aspiring professionals to gain more knowledge and experience in hosting world-class events while elevating Singapore’s status as a prime MICE destination.
