Add wonder and novelty for a memorable dining experience
While it’s worthwhile sampling a taste of Singapore at its famed cooked food centres or visiting its top restaurants, these off-the-beaten-track culinary adventures (think: dining in the sky or eating among animals) are experiences you and your guests won’t soon forget.
Night Safari’s Gourmet Safari Express
Redefining whatever you previously knew about experiential dining, the Night Safari’s Gourmet Safari Express takes visitors on a ride through the award-winning park and serves up a candlelit five-course meal at the same time. Expect a mix of the exotic and exquisite, because as your tram calls on each of the nocturnal stars of the Night Safari, dinner is served, along with a free flow service of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Night Safari’s An Evening in the Wild
For groups of 25 or more, there’s also the option of having An Evening in the Wild – which includes a three-course dinner complete with desserts and free-flow wine in Singapore’s first and only tipi tent. Dine with the Night Safari’s animal ambassadors while enjoying a view of the Seletar Reservoir.
Dining at S.E.A. Aquarium’s Ocean Gallery
Over at the resort island of Sentosa, the S.E.A. AquariumTM houses the expansive Ocean Gallery, which provides visitors with panoramic views of the colourful marine creatures that call it home. Schools of small fish and stingrays that glide elegantly through the water make for an impressive backdrop that puts you almost within touching distance of the undersea world.
Ocean Gallery has played host to many cocktail events and gala dinners. To enliven the atmosphere, organisers can bring in live bands, and there’s even the option to surprise guests with a unique memento – divers can be commissioned to hold up placards or banners with special messages underwater!
The high life at sea on board the Royal Albatross tallship
Setting off from Resorts WorldTM Sentosa, the luxury tall ship Royal Albatross offers guests a memorable sail at dusk. Once featured in the cult favourite Batman film The Dark Knight, you’ll see the Royal Albatross in a different light once you take in picture-postcard views of the sunset from its top deck.
This cruise includes dinner, drinks and entertainment on board, as it makes its way along Singapore’s coastline on selected Saturdays. The ship is also available for private charter or overnight stays, and is fully equipped with bars, a restaurant-grade galley, and five en-suite cabins in its lower deck.
Beachfront dining at Tanjong Beach Club
Back on shore, it’s sun, sand and sea at Tanjong Beach Club, a restaurant, bar and club located along Sentosa’s southern coast. While the club has both indoor and alfresco dining areas, some guests would tell you that there’s no better spot to cosy up than on one of the many daybeds offering poolside fun and gorgeous beach views.
Its resort-worthy spaces and extensive international menu are ideal for those looking to host corporate parties, weddings and even product launches. Certified Gold by the Condé Nast Traveller in 2014, an event at Tanjong Beach Club definitely makes an impression.
