View the world through the eyes of your children – with much curiosity and excitement – on a fun-filled getaway in Singapore.
When was the last time you looked at something and truly felt a great sense of wonder? By visiting Singapore, you will not only get to view the world through the eyes of your children – with much curiosity and excitement – but also spend moments together that create lifetime memories.
On top of the world
Embark on a getaway to our sunny isle and rediscover the sense of wonder you had as a child, starting with a change of scenery from atop the Singapore Flyer? On the world’s largest giant observation wheel, you will be treated to breath-taking 360o views from every direction with your loved ones – 165 metres above ground. Feel your spirits soar as you take flight and admire the spectacular city skyline, whether it is day or night.
While you’re at Marina Bay, be sure to drop by the award-winning Gardens by the Bay for an awe-inspiring encounter with the Supertrees. Reaching up to 16 storeys in height, these uniquely designed trees are a spectacular sight to behold especially after dark when they come alive through an exhilarating display of light and sound. A stroll in the Cloud Forest with your family is also packed with picture-perfect moments, as it houses the world’s largest indoor waterfall as well as a mysterious lush wonderland covered in mist.
A feast for the senses
Looking for a visual extravaganza that will leave a lasting impression? Take your loved ones on a journey through space and time via the Wings of Time at Sentosa island, an award-winning outdoor night show that promises to be a stunning multi-sensory presentation with lasers, fire and water effects.
Apart from visual spectacles, do take time out to indulge your taste buds with some of our iconic hawker dishes. The Singapore Food Trail, an old-school dining attraction located near the Singapore Flyer, features local favourites such as ice balls drenched in colourful syrup, satay (tender Malay-style kebabs served with peanut sauce) and fried oyster omelette. Another popular food centre in the vicinity is Makansutra Glutton’s Bay– its name aptly reflecting the wide variety of multi-cuisine food options available!
If the thought of swimming with sharks or feeding stingrays excites you, then head to the Marine Life Park, where you can get up close and personal with the park’s resident sea creatures. The Ray Bay encounter gives you the unique opportunity to feed, touch and even interact with the marine park’s variety of rays while wading along with them. Join the Sea Trek® Adventure programme and look forward to ‘strolling’ along the depths of the oceanic habitat (you don’t need a diving license!) with fish swimming right by your side. It certainly beats simply watching a marine life documentary any day!
Marvel at creatures of the past and present
Go back in time and explore the prehistoric world of dinosaurs at the newly opened Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, the first of its kind in Singapore. Home to over 560,000 plant, animal and fossil specimens that include the bones of the extinct dodo bird, the museum is definitely a destination not to be missed.
Take a tour along the museum’s enthralling galleries, and be humbled by the knowledge that you’re in the company of precious fragments of the earth’s history that have truly stood the test of time. Star ‘residents’ include Prince, Apollonia and Twinky, giant dinosaur skeletons that are up to a staggering 150 million years old. Each skeleton is nearly completely intact– a rarity in the paleontology world.
While there is no way of bringing extinct creatures to life, you and your kids can still experience the world of dinosaurs at the Lost World of Universal Studios Singapore, and enjoy a splashing good time on the river raft ride at the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure™.
Back in the present era, the Jurong Bird Park offers a range of interactive experiences that allow visitors to get up close and personal with its feathered residents. With the Lory Feeding experience, look forward to feeding a variety of birds while enjoying views of the surrounding greenery from atop a suspension bridge. If you simply can’t get enough of birds, join the Bird’s Eye Tour and let a personal tour guide tell you more about the park’s colourful creatures while zipping around the Park in a buggy ride.
To appreciate and learn from your kids’ can-do attitude, get fearless with them on a Forest Adventure, where an exhilarating outing amidst the treetops awaits. At Singapore’s first and only treetop obstacle course, try ‘flying’ for the first time on zip lines, trapezes or a giant Tarzan swing surrounded by the beautiful foliage at Bedok Reservoir Park.
Climb Central also let you and your precious ones explore a stimulating vertical playground of sorts that is safe for both beginners and enthusiasts alike. The tallest indoor air-conditioned sport climbing venue in Singapore, Climb Central features advanced climbing safety systems and is conveniently located at the Singapore Sports Hub. Look forward to literally scaling new heights upon the centre’s 16-metre wall and bask in the thrill of ascending to the top!
A popular family destination is the Far East Organization Children’s Garden at Gardens by the bay, a play area for kids in the very heart of nature. With a Toddler Play Zone for one to five year olds and rainforest tree houses that reach up to 7.5 metres tall, your kids will definitely have a great afternoon immersed in their own mini adventures. Don’t forget to pack their swimming costumes so that they can play at the numerous water features in the vicinity!
