Culture vultures are in for a visual feast in Singapore, with so many art galleries and museums around town. Plan your time well and experience it all.
You don’t need to be an art aficionado to be creative: art jamming—a social painting experience—has grown in popularity in recent years. The appeal stems from a judgment-free environment where you can create masterpieces to your heart’s content. It’s also a great way to bond with your friends and family as you while away the hours in the artistic environment. And, the best part is that you can take your painted canvas home to show it off in your living room. Here are some places to wield your paintbrush.
Liberty Art Jam at Artify Studio
At Artify Studio, both the young and young-at-heart can get gloriously messy with paint during the parent-child jamming sessions (SGD 70/pair). But if you want to take your kid’s art skills up a notch, there are friendly instructors on hand to give guidance (SGD 38/child) or tutoring classes for those aged four to six (SGD 160/four sessions). Likewise, adults can level up through floral painting, watercolour painting, or brush calligraphy to create Instagram-worthy prints. This homely studio adopts a pay-as-you-wish system, and you can do good while you jam: if you shell out more than SGD 35, a portion of your session fees goes to charity.

The details elevate the experience here—you have refreshing fruit juice to sip on, unlimited acrylic paint to play around with, and a wet painting carrier to bring your masterpiece home undamaged. My Art Space also offers classes at various levels, ranging from beginner foundation classes under the tutelage of professionals, to more advanced workshops for aspiring artists.

This open-concept studio with two locations in town draws in droves of families, couples and groups of friends for its sessions (SGD 48/pax). That’s no wonder with its many promotional packages for seniors, students, parties and large groups: they include free flow paint, sponges and brushes, and a complimentary drink (boozy ones on demand) to boot. You can even pick your canvas size here—choose between a 60x80cm or 50x50cm canvas.
To complete your leisurely day out, head to the space’s café, which serves up artisanal teas and a deluge of sweet treats and brunch dishes. Here, you can sip on aromatic dessert teas (try the aptly named “Monet”) and nibble on cheesecake.

Though a sister company of Arteastiq, Museo holds a distinct and elegant identity of its own. It is part restaurant, part art studio, set along the waterfront at Quayside Isle in Sentosa, making it a quiet respite from the city’s hustle and bustle.
The art space here seamlessly blends with the luxurious restaurant, which serves up afternoon tea sets and a slew of boozy drinks. Art jamming sessions (SGD 38/pax) here include a canvas, unlimited acrylic paint and brushes, as well as a complimentary beverage. Just imagine poring over your art with a glass of wine or a cocktail in hand—now, that’s the life. Night owls can linger on for a spot of painting after dinner, too, as the outlet opens until late even on weekdays.

Stroll down to this Boulevart where reasonably priced jamming sessions await (SGD 33/two hours). Painters who prefer not to rush their craft can top up SGD 9 for every additional hour. You’ll be equipped with a disposable apron, takeaway canvas box and brand-new nylon flat brushes. For a more in-depth experience, attend the workshops inspired by the greats—Cezanne, Monet, Van Gogh, for instance—or have a go at painting with glow-in-the-dark acrylics, flowers or even sand. If none of the sessions catch your fancy, there are also tailored classes that you can customise as you wish.
