Spend the morning strolling arm-in-arm with your loved one amidst the greenery of Fort Canning Park.

Formerly known as Bukit Larangan (Forbidden Hill), this 18-hectare park was once the seat of Malay royalty in Singapore, and is home to nature and historical insights alike.

Take a walk through the Spice Gardens—keeping your eyes peeled for nutmeg trees and wild pepper vines—or find a serene spot to have a heart-to-heart conversation with your loved one.

In the evening, catch a stage performance at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. This iconic structure (designed to resemble our national fruit, the durian) is home to the performing arts in Singapore.

The establishment’s 2000 seat theatre and 1600 seat concert hall have been graced by a who’s who of theatre ensembles and legendary performers, ranging from jazz legend Herbie Hancock to the cast of The Phantom of the Opera.

The Esplanade is also home to some of Singapore’s most talented performers, and you’re likely to hear the strains of live music as you explore its foyers or walk along the waters of the Outdoor Promenade.

With its lantern-festooned streets, old-school businesses and charming blend of traditional and modern, Chinatown is the perfect place to get acquainted with our island’s culture and colourful past.

Spend your day exploring the quaint shophouses, charming eateries  and places of worship that dot the neighbourhood. The majestic gopuram (grand tower entrance) of Sri Mariamman Temple—located along South Bridge Road—makes for a good landmark to get your bearing.

Venture into the temple to snap some shots of its beautiful interiors and religious statues, before exploring the district to your heart’s content.

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Masjid Jamae are equally beautiful places of worship, and souvenir shopping opportunities abound at stores like On Cheong Jewellery and Thye Shan Medical Hall.

If you and your partner are feeling peckish, we recommend sharing a sweet treat from Tong Heng Delicacies before continuing your exploration.

Dance the evening (and the wee hours of the morning) away at Clarke Quay, home to some of Singapore’s most popular watering holes and dance clubs.

Zouk—Singapore’s grand old dame of party spots— is a popular haunt for EDM and trance lovers, and you’re bound to have a blast lighting up the dance floor with your partner.

If live music is what you seek, we suggest spending the rest of the night at Crazy Elephant. This unpretentious watering hole is a popular haunt of Singapore’s veteran rockers, and is a great alternative to karaoke—if you’re aren’t shy to sing in front of a live audience!

Day 3: Serenity and seaside retreats

Auriga Spa

Away from Singapore’s bustling cityscape lies Sentosa, an island escape that promises white beaches, blue surf and idyllic island life, and is a great spot for couples looking to escape the urban buzz.

You’ll be able to get to the island resort via tram from Vivocity, or by taking a cable car from Faber Peak.

Before heading to the island resort’s pristine beaches, you’ll want to pamper yourself at one of the many spas on Sentosa.  Auriga Spa—located at Capella Singapore—offers a four-hour honeymoon spa session that includes a head to toe massage, honey and jasmine facial masks and a honey and rose body scrub that’ll have you feeling brand new.

If serenity is what you seek, we recommend making a beeline for Tanjong Beach, which boasts a quiet stretch of coastline and pristine white sands.

Alternatively, couples in the mood to people watch should spread their beach blankets on Palawan Beach—for a scenic view of the ocean, be sure to take a walk across the suspension bridge to a little islet that demarcates the southernmost point of Asia.
