...60 years since the end of World War II; 60 years since the end of the Japanese Occupation in Singapore.

We remember a generation lost, and salute a generation of selfless heroes who sacrificed their lives in the fight for freedom, dignity and justice for the people of Singapore.

Visitors and veterans who come to Singapore between February and September this year can rediscover the past through heritage tours, exclusive commemorative events and never-before seen exhibitions. Be the first to view numerous new museums and galleries and take home copies of newly launched books, all dedicated to the celebration of the 60th Anniversary.

Commemorations will culminate in September with ceremonies to mark the surrender of the Japanese and the jubilant liberation of Singapore; to honour the heroes who perished, and to celebrate the beginning of a new era of freedom, independence and great hope.
